Although not many young children really need early orthodontics (two sets of braces), select patients can benefit from early treatment. This beautiful 9 year old little girl benefitted from a short phase of braces (about a year) to create space for her adult teeth to grow into her mouth. This type of treatment is called "phase 1". Phase 1 treatment is most effective at correcting an orthodontic problem that will be more difficult to correct in the future, or will significantly worsen with growth.
