This 52 year old female presented with generalized spacing of her front teeth. Braces were used to close the gaps. Her treatment has not required any surgeries to remove excess gum tissue. To ensure good retention, she will wear braces for an additional few months beyond the intially recommended treatment time. The braces will hold her teeth in the new position to stabilize the ligaments that hold her teeth in the bone. After the braces are removed, she will wear a retainer at night when she sleeps. She is wearing clear, also known as "ceramic" orthodontic braces.
